Nananakeya believes that everyone has a gift/talent that needs to be explored and used to help society. However, children living in difficult situations seem forgotten. This includes orphans, vulnerable to FGM, Street children, the victim of rape/sexual harassment, income poverty, or separated parents living in orphanage centres/foster care homes.

Despite the immense potential of children to positively shape the future, there are few systematic approaches to identifying and nurturing their talents in Tanzania, especially those from poor and marginalized families. Many children, in schools, homes and those in orphanages lack access to a reliable platform to showcase their talents and abilities. Such a lack of a structured approach to identifying children's talents limits the chances for these children to connect with potential stakeholders. While acknowledging the efforts made by the Government through different departments, this project (Talent Expo) aims to support these initiatives by establishing comprehensive, child-friendly and reliable talent discovery platforms tailored to the Tanzanian context, linking relevant stakeholders and institutions, and supporting and strengthening these efforts through linking stakeholders.
